How we enrol

Once we have our enrolment packs ready, we will advertise that our enrolments are open. Enrolment packs can be collected from our enrolment box at our front gate or you can complete an ENROLMENT INTEREST FORM and we will post an enrolment pack to your nominated postal address.

Our process of enrolling your child at preschool starts when we receive your completed enrolment form and Immunisation History Statement. Once we have these documents and a place is available, you will be notified by email and letter.

Prior to your child starting at Preschool an Enrolment meeting will be he held with you and your child. This meeting is an opportunity for you to discuss any needs that your child may have and to gather more information about what we do at Preschool. We will also give your child a Preschool T shirt (to take home) and allocate a Preschool hat to them (that stays at Preschool).

To comply with our Department of Education Start Strong Funding Agreement we offer a 2 day enrolment for children. We do our best to offer the days that you request on your enrolment form.

Priority of Access

To comply with our Funding Agreement from the NSW Department of Education, we are required to give equal priority of access to:

  • children who are at least 4 years old on or before the 31 July in that preschool year and not enrolled or registered at a school

  • children who are at least 3 years old on or before 31 July in that preschool year and are:

    • children from low income families

    • children with an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background

    • children with a disability or additional needs

    • children with English language needs

  • children who are at risk of significant harm (from a child protection perspective.)

There is no order of priority assigned to the list of points above. We must give priority to the groups outlined above before any other groups, including 3 year olds not falling into any of the groups above.

Fees

Tumut Community Preschool is a recipient of funding under the NSW Department of Education Start Strong for Community Preschools Program and fee relief is available for families if they choose to receive Start Strong Fee Relief from us (families can only claim the fee relief at one service).

Our fees are currently free for families receiving the Start Strong Fee Relief with us.

Our fees vary from $36 per day to $86 per day if you are choosing to receive your Start Strong Fee Relief at another service.
